Tours: Ireland

The Kent Camerata performed throughout Ireland, from South to North, appearing in Tralee, Dublin, Belfast, Jordanstown, Coleraine, Antrim, and Armagh.  The concert for the “Music in Armagh” series was well reviewed:

“Kent Camerata members were all warmly received by an enthusiastic Armagh  audience.  The program featured a wide variety of musical styles with something to suit everybody.”  (Susan Hewitt, The Ulster Gazette)     See  REVIEW

At the University of Ulster, Jordanstown, the Kent Camerata collaborated  in panel assessments of student performances.  In Tralee, their educational activity involved performance for and dialogue with elementary school children.

The ensemble’s outreach to the larger Irish public through performance/interview appearances on the BBC and Radio Tralee conveyed an additional message of friendship.

“The University of Ulster was delighted to have the Kent Camerata on their recent concert tour of Northern Ireland.  While with us on our Coleraine and Jordanstown  campuses, they demonstrated in superb fashion the value of cultural exchanges. The ensemble  displayed excellent musicianship and warm rapport with our audiences, students, and staff.  Their participation as panel facilitators in performance exams for our Music Division was most valuable in our peer assessment programme. In short, it was a distinct pleasure to host the Kent Camerata and we look forward to future opportunities to expand our exchange of cultural ambassadors.” (Professor Sir Trevor Smith, Vice-Chancellor, The University of Ulster, Coleraine, Northern Ireland)
